AMPLIFY: Hedgebrook's Book Club—In conversation with Dionne Ford

tl:dr
Book club. Me in conversation with Dionne Ford ‘bout her novel Go Back and Get It: A Memoir of Race, Inheritance, and Intergenerational Healing.

The full story:
Eight years ago at Hedgebrook’s farmhouse table, I sat across from Naomi Williams, Sara Nović, Dionne Ford, Celeste Gainey, and Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo. We gave our cohort a name and that name was The Slug Sisters (after the many slugs we saw on the land.) As we ate, we shared stories (rarely about writing, come to think of it). Afterwards, we walked to Useless Bay and back (insert your own metaphor here). The next day we did it all over again.

Eight years later, we are still in contact and that feels like magic. It feels like exactly what residencies are supposed to do.

I’m so excited that on March 22, I’ll get to ask Dionne about her book, her research, and her journey to heal herself and her lineage. Join me!
